Wall and Floor Fountain Warranty Information
GENERAL INFORMATION
ORIGIN OF THE STONE
All our stones are specially quarried and shipped from India. The stones of India are renowned
worldwide for their beauty and elegance. Every stone is hand cut and its edges chiseled to
perfection making each Water Feature Supply fountain a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Because no two
stones are alike, your fountain is an original. Therefore, your stone will vary in color, texture, and
thickness (up to a quarter inch in thickness). The black stone and green stone have some
variation of shade; however, the most dramatic difference is seen in the remarkable multi-color
stone, which varies in its range of greens, reds, golds, and rusts.
METAL HOOD AND TRAY
All our copper components are fashioned from high-grade copper mined from Kennecott Copper
Mine located near Salt Lake City, Utah. The unique marble-like finish is burned onto the copper
one piece at a time by skilled artisans. A clear coat finish is then applied to the metal to give it a
high gloss finish as well as to protect the copper from naturally turning green over time.
INSTALLATION
Fountain installation requires two people. Before installing, we recommend installing an electrical
outlet in the wall directly behind where the stone will be placed. Fountains can be installed on
almost any type of wall, including cinder block and metal stud walls. They can also be installed
outdoors; an optional lid for the hood is available to help weatherproof the fountain’s electrical
components.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
Although not required, we recommend installing a GFI electrical outlet in the wall behind where
the stone will be placed prior to installing the fountain. Doing so is more aesthetically pleasing as
it will enable you to keep the electrical cord hidden from sight. Place the electrical outlet near the
center of the stone at least 18 inches higher than the bottom of the fountain’s lower tray and at
least 24 inches lower than the top of the hood, which is at the top of the fountain. For the double
and triple stone falls the electrical outlet should be placed behind the left most stone as you face
it on the wall. Water Feature Supply water features now have one switch that controls the lights and the water.
WATER USAGE
The water feature acts as a natural humidifier and therefore requires one half to two gallons of
water per day depending upon the setting, climate, size, and usage. We recommend only using
distilled water.
MAINTENANCE
**IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT THIS PRODUCT NEEDS MAINTENANCE ON A
REGULAR BASIS.**
Pump. Check the water in your fountain daily. NEVER ALLOW YOUR PUMP TO
OPERATE DRY! Pumps that have been operated without water will not be covered under
warranty. Over time your pump may get calcium build up on it. Unplug it from the light bar
then remove it and clean thoroughly.
Copper Finishes. We have applied a clear coat (similar to the one put on automobiles) to
our copper Water Trays, Hoods, and Splash Guards. This is to help prevent the natural
patina process and/or corrosion. We recommend that once every 60 days (or as needed)
you apply a hard shell car wax to the outside of the Water Tray and upper half front side
of the Splash Guard. This will help prevent water from penetrating the clear coat. If you
get white spotting on your copper and the wax does not remove it, apply Calcium Lime
Remover (CLR) or Lime-away to the spots and rinse it very thoroughly. After drying,
apply car wax again. Do not let water stand on the lip of the Water Tray.
Stainless Steel. Do not apply wax to the stainless steel. If spotting occurs, apply CLR or
Lime-away as noted above.
Stone. If the stone whitens, colors dull, gets a slimy feel to the surface, or you notice
algae building up, turn off the pump and get a scrub brush and apply CLR or Lime-Away.
Vigorously apply the brush with some water and cleanser to areas of concern as well as
the entire stone. Important: Take precaution when scrubbing that your floor or walls do
not get splashed. Rinse the stone thoroughly and remove all the dirty water from the
Water Tray. Then refill with clean water. Sometimes after the initial start up of your water
feature you may discover your water is dirty. Although we have cleaned the stones after
their arrival from India the constant flow of water over the stone may dislodge dirt from
the stone. Simply remove the dirty water and replace it.
Water. Depending on the amount of usage, you may want to put 1-2 drops of Clorox into
your water per week. Do not overuse Clorox. This will help keep your water clean and
prevent slime and algae from growing. Important: If you are using distilled water do not
use Clorox.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING
Pump is too noisy: Make sure the pump is sitting on the bottom of the Water Tray and not
touching either of the walls and that the pad is under it. Be sure the rubber tubing is
securely fastened to the pump nozzle and the water distribution nozzle, as forced water
escaping the connection may cause unwanted air bubble noise. Make sure the pump is
completely immersed in water.
Water does not flow: Check for any kinks in the rubber tubing at the bottom of the slate.
Make sure pump nozzle is inserted into rubber tube, and the pump is completely
immersed. Over a long period of time and depending upon the type of water you use,
buildup may occur in the hose. Replace hose or clean it.
